Murray Method® in Ukraine – Poltava Murray Method® Center: 20 Years of Healing
Dr. Ruslan Ilchenko and his wife Ludmila have been dedicated practitioners of the Murray Method® since 2003. As active Murray Method® instructors, they established a center in Poltava, Ukraine, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
When war erupted in Ukraine in 2022, the Ilchenkos and their staff immediately mobilized to address the overwhelming trauma experienced by civilian refugees. Their compassionate response led to the establishment of the Murray Method® War Trauma Treatment Rehabilitation Center in January 2023. This specialized rehabilitation center provides free in-patient treatment to 50 war victims each month, using the Murray Method® as its primary therapeutic approach. The effectiveness of this methodology in addressing severe high-crisis trauma has been demonstrated through successful treatment of over 1,300 civilian victims of war.
The work being done in Poltava exemplifies how the Murray Method® can be adapted to address even the most profound trauma, offering hope and healing in circumstances of extreme crisis. Patients who complete this program leave with a transformative confidence in their ability to survive, maintaining a deep sense of internal value and courage for the future.
